The third edition of Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner’s Eaux Claires festival was heavy on collaborations between performers, including Vernon and Dessner themselves. Paul Simon was joined by a classical ensemble, and many artists covered John Prine. Chance the Rapper, Danny Brown, Feist, Perfume Genius, Sylvan Esso, and Francis and the Lights were among others who played the festival.
Brooklyn/Asbury Park music source Speak Into My Good Eye announced I’ll Be Around, a special Wilco-tribute cover record in support of The Project Matters, a nonprofit that provides resources to emerging young musicians.
Set to be released on May 5th, SIMGE released Jackson Pines‘ wonderfully stripped-down piano-teasing version of the band’s “Red Eyed and Blue” track from 1996’s Being There. This marks the group’s second foray into charity records with their release of a Queens of the Stone Age cover album back in 2014.

Last year The Dandy Warhols put out their first new album in four years called Distortland, and now the veteran Portland rockers have a new single and video to coincide with it: “Thick Girls Knock Me Out (Richard Starkey).”
The “Richard Starkey” lyric, of course, refers to Ringo Starr’s real name. Watch and listen below.

This June, Wilco’s Solid Sound Music & Arts Festival will return to Massachussets’ Museum of Contemporary Art, and now, the full lineup of bands has been announced.
Those who purchase three day passes can expect performances from Kurt Vile & The Violators, the legendary Television, Big Thief, and more. Along with appearances by Wilco themselves and their various side projects, attendees can once again expect a comedy stage hosted by multi-disciplinary humorist John Hodgman.
