NJ’s The Wellmont Theater being upgraded (and staying open)

Bowery Ballroom + Mercury Lounge and Live Nation form Mercury East Presents

Earlier this year, NYC venues Bowery Ballroom and Mercury Lounge confirmed that they were parting ways with Bowery Presents (which was acquired by AEG), and we heard that Live Nation would be taking over the two Lower East Side venues. Today that news has been officially confirmed, as Bowery Ballroom/Mercury Lounge co-owner Michael Swier and Live Nation announced their new promotions and booking venture, Mercury East Presents.

Hell’s Kitchen fire spread to building that houses Stage 48

A dumpster fire in Hell’s Kitchen spread to the building which houses music venue Stage 48 last night (11/26). FDNY officials reportedly said that the fire started around 9:10 PM, reached the second floor of the building, and lasted for over two hours.

MSG & Barclays Center to get permanent NYPD officers with high-power rifles
