The third edition of Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner’s Eaux Claires festival was heavy on collaborations between performers, including Vernon and Dessner themselves. Paul Simon was joined by a classical ensemble, and many artists covered John Prine. Chance the Rapper, Danny Brown, Feist, Perfume Genius, Sylvan Esso, and Francis and the Lights were among others who played the festival.

Currently gaining some well deserved attention opening for The National in Europe, Stables has a warm and gorgeous voice and two excellent collections of songs that bring to mind some of her UK “folk” music peers like Laura Marling and Cerys Matthews.
