Free at Noon Flashback: Sunflower Bean discovers afternoon rock at World Cafe Live

It’s official, the consensus is in: afternoon rock shows are the best. Of course, the Free at Noon crowd has always known that, but it’s great to hear that Sunflower Bean agrees. Two and a half years later (hint, hint: each member will be twenty-two) Sunflower Bean is releasing their sophomore record, Twentytwo in Blue, on March 23rd via ...

Consider Singles Club your musical matchmaker. I do hope you’ll give all these ready to mingle bachelors and bachelorettes your ear as you listen to some new favorite tunes. Read on in the hopes of finding your musical love connection.

Chicago’s The Drafts have hit upon quite a winning sound in their song “Morning Culture.” The band, who modestly describe themselves as making “rock jams,” exhibit a knack for a modified type of 90s-influenced college radio/slacker rock. They do get a little wacky towards the end of the song, demonstrating that this “noisy rock quartet” can freak out with the ...
