Mas Ysa – Shame

Synth-pop is an escape, a pleasant electronic distraction usually void of the emotion better suited for folk, blues and soul. Woodstock’s Mas Ysa shoves that convention into a wood-chipper and tapes those shreds back together into something both raw and melodic. There are hints of Future Islands and M83 in his latest track “Shame,” but to call this beautifully twisted gem anything but his own would be doing it a disservice.
