In recent years, Upper Darby art punk favorites mewithoutYou have toured in celebration of every milestone they’ve hit — this time it’s the 15th anniversary of [A–>B] Life, and they’ve hit the road to play the album in its entirety. Tonight’s stop at the TLA also includes a performance from Pianos Become The Teeth. Last time mewithoutYou played a show in town was for the 15th anniversary of Brother, Sister — read The Key’s review here. Find tickets and more information on tonight’s show on the XPN Concert ...

In Our Darkness, A Light Shines: mewithoutYou Celebrate 10 Years of Brother, Sister

For a band that does an awful lot of protesting their own existence, mewithoutYou are doing pretty well for themselves, 15 years in. On Thursday night, they celebrated a record that begins and ends with “I do not exist,” turning 10 years old — no small feat when you think about it. This closed tautology of self-denial bookends indie punk classic Brother, Sister — and has become an anthem for those searching for something beyond the easy answers. While all of mewithoutYou’s work deals heavily in symbolism and clever turns of phrase, the album doubles down ...

mewithoutYou celebrates 15 years with remastered debut I Never Said That I Was Brave

mewithoutYou | photo by Jeremy Zimmerman | jeremy-zim.com

mewithoutYou, believe it or not, have been around for 15 years. Yes, 1-5. And while this occasion sometimes calls for ballrooms and a quinceanera, these Upper Darby natives have chosen to celebrate by releasing a remastered version of their first EP, I Never Said That I Was Brave, headed by the band’s mastering staple Hans Dekline of Sound Bites Dog.

The 5-tracker will be offered through their own store with tapes and one-time pressing of the EP, all to commemorate the post-hardcore outfit’s already expansive career. Be sure to act fast, as when these pressings are ...

Take yourself on a dreamy ride with Geology’s record Healers

Geology | photo via facebook

Philadelphia lo-fi folk outfit Geology quietly released their album Healers this past spring. Fronted by the former bassist of Philly art-punk group mewithoutYou, Greg Jehanian called Healers a work in progress upon its initial release, and promised that more music would soon be added to the LP. Though Healers is not without its share of uptempo moments, Geology’s music is becoming progressively ...
