Broken Social Scene will bring Hug of Thunder to The Fillmore in October

Broken Social Scene has been away for a little while — a whole seven years of a little while — but made a return this past March with a new single, “Halfway Home.” Now, details have finally surfaced at TheMusicToday.com on an upcoming album, titled Hug of Thunder.

Canadian alt-pop jauggernaut Metric released its sixth LP, Pagans in Vegas, last fall, and its headline tour in support of it brings it to The Fillmore Philadelphia on March 15th. This week the band released its Spotify Session – an acoustic set featuring frontwoman Emily Haines and guitarist Jimmy Shaw performing an acoustic set, fittingly enough, in Las Vegas music store 11th Street Records.

MetricLast month, Metric shared a new song called “The Shade,” the first taste from its next album. Today, the band gave more details about that album and shared another track. Titled Pagans in Vegas, the new LP will be out on September 18, following up 2012’s Synthetica. The new single is “Cascades,” which the band calls “the pounding heart” of Pagans in Vegas.
