Chance the Rapper cancels Mad Decent Block Party sets, replaced by Vic Mensa

Chance the RapperChance the Rapper has canceled his scheduled appearances at the Mad Decent Block Parties in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Boston and Toronto due to exhaustion. Fellow Chicago native and collaborator Vic Mensa will step in to replace him.

The announcement came via Mad Decent’s Twitter on Friday. Chance, who was forced to cancel a set at Coachella earlier this year because of the flu and tonsillitis, was able to complete his scheduled hometown set at Lollapalooza last night.

Mad Decent Block Party 2014Mad Decent Block Party’s trend of annual expansion will continue in 2014 as festivals will take place in 22 cities this summer, up from 13 last year and five in 2012. The dates and locations were announced last week, followed by the lineup announcement today. Outkast will headline the Denver, CO stop on August 22.

Philadelphia’s Mad Decent Block Party will take place on Friday, August 8 at Festival Pier. Chance The Rapper, Dillon Francis, Diplo, Dirty South Joe, DJ Sega, DJ SNAKE, Flosstradamus, and Swizzymack will perform.
