Indie legends Wilco, who have been one of the leading bands in the underground for over a decade, released the aptly titled Schmilco on September 9th.  Schmilco sees a softer, more acoustic side to the band compared to its predecessor Star Wars which was released only a year ago. Wilco had Philadelphia area fans watching with rapt attention at their recent show at the Mann last month, and now comes word that the American alt-rock legends are coming out with a new album.

Wilco’s announcement of their next album “Schmilco” comes a week after releasing the new song “Locator,” one of 11 songs on the new album. Earlier this year Jeff Tweedy promised a new album was in the works:

“Wilco have another one ready to go this year… Ready to go sounds pretty promising!”

Eddie Vedder made an unannounced stop at his old high school in Encinitas, California on Sat. & joined some former classmates onstage for some band practice at San Dieguito Academy for the school’s annual fundraiser. Watch.

Vedder sang lead on a cover of Joe Jackson’s “Got the Time” and rocked along to the Modern Lovers’ “Roadrunner.” Watch below.
