The NY Art Book Fair is this weekend (September 22 – 24) at MoMA PS1 which features a gigantic selection of artists’ books, catalogs, monographs, periodicals, and zines. Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip, BLONDES and more play the preview party on Thursday.
It has been a while since we’ve heard from Gang Gang Dance in any sort of proper way. Their last release was 2011’s Eye Contact, and the band haven’t really toured since 2012…but they’ll play Brooklyn this month.
This week’s episode focuses on The Growlers Six festival with songs from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Butthole Surfers, Danny Brown, Beach Fossils, The B-52s, Ariel Pink, Jonanthan Richman, Bad Brains, Beth Ditto and more.

The 2017 edition of Sound on Sound happens November 10 – 12 at Sherwood Forest which is just outside of Austin, TX. The lineup also includes Electric Wizard, Sleep, Vince Staples, Digable Planets, Converge, and still so much more.
The “Home” video for the song was directed by Pete Fowler, whose distinctive graphic style has appeared on most Super Furry Animals releases and here animates the dreams of a club-goer who falls asleep in a cab home after a club all-nighter.
In theory I like the idea of the remix: taking someone else’s song and tweaking it the way you want it done. It’s a great means for completely redoing something, and for reinterpretation. Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard will release new solo album Electric Lines on April 21 via Greco Roman / Domino. Following “Lose Your Love,” Joe’s just released new single “Music is the Answer” that features vocals from Jess Mills (aka Slo), and a video directed by acclaimed creative collective Shynola.
