What to get the Britpop enthusiast in your life? May I suggest the new book I Was Britpopped? Written by Jenny Natasha and Tim Boniface-Webb, this tome covers the golden era of the 1990s when the UK was churning out ...

We’ve all seen the onslaught of ads telling us that holiday shopping season has officially begun. Pressure to open they wallet as some kind of duty aside, presents are fun. Happy Halloween, Y'all!

Happy New Year, Y’all!

Source: Fuzzy Logic

What a long, strange year it’s been. There’s been some good, and there’s certainly been some bad, but when you get right down to it, I suppose I’ll say it was a pretty ok year. And there was a whole lot of good music to soundtrack the last twelve months.

I’d like to wish you a truly delightful Happy New Year, and I hope that the year brings you good health, good folks, good times, and of course, good music. In the spirit of the passing year, here’s a few versions of my most favorite New Year’s song, “Auld Lang ...

Happy 4th of July!

Source: Fuzzy Logic

It’s time once again to don your most patriotic of red, white, and blue ensembles, pull the tab on the first of many great American beverages, and do whatever else you might happen to do to celebrate America. Unless of course you don’t live here, in which case, there’s really no need to celebrate.

One of the most American of things is that Star-Spangled Banner, the one everyone butchers at public sporting events because it’s so very difficult to sing. The best version, of course, includes zero singing. I’ll leave you with the 1969 Woodstock version of Jimi Hendrix putting all ...

We were treated to a number of Valentine’s Day releases this year, but one that got lost in yesterday’s shuffle was Peking Duk‘s “High.” The Australian production duo’s latest track is a bright, high-energy number that strangely reminds us of an electro-pop Dandy Warhols. Part of that is thanks to Nicole Millar, whose vocals are front and center in this one. Give “High” a listen below.

Single Review: Eastern Conference Champions – Saving Christmas

Source: One Fan at a Time

Saving Christmas - Single Oh my, Eastern Conference Champions (ECC) has done it yet again—a new holiday tune to delight our ears and warm our hearts.  ECC’s 2013 holiday single is “Saving Christmas” another original holiday song in a yearly tradition that includes “Christmas in Doylestown”, “Nuclear Christmas” and one of my all-time favorites—“Scottish Egg Nog”.

“Saving Christmas” opens with the choral pleading “the hardest part of Christmas is throwing out the tree, won’t you bring me a plastic one, Father Christmas, won’t you please”.  Then we get to hear that true ECC rock goodness.  The ...

All Things Ghost: A Rad ATG Halloween

It’s been a while since we’ve been at Bourbon. We’ve had some good times there since ATG’s inception, hosting afterparties with the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and Of Montreal. This Halloween we’ll be making our triumphant return upstairs with an extra spooky DJ set from The Joy Formidable. The Welsh rock juggernauts will be supporting Passion Pit that night and will make their way to Bourbon right after the show to celebrate the holiday right. Joining them will be ATG-certified party starter Lightwaves, who has dominated the Bourbon decks on a number of occassions.
