John Carpenter: Anthology (Movie Themes 1974-1998)

You might just be a fan of John Carpenter’s movies (Halloween, Escape From New York, Starman, and Big Trouble In Little China to name a few). This anthology delivers 13 pieces of music from 13 different Carpenter films, both composed and played by Carpenter himself.

It opens with the heavy guitar-riff-led “In The Mouth of Madness” (one of the few here led by electric guitar). Then we roll through the early work ...

Happy Halloween, Y'all

I’ve said it before, but Halloween is by far my favorite holiday of the calendar year. Is it the escapist factor of costumes and characters? The macabre but fun welcoming of death into the celebration? The blurring of the line between reality and the otherworldly? Yes, yes, and yes.

This year, I’ve pulled together some classic Halloween-ready tunes, and some covers that are pretty ghoulishly delightful to boot. I hope you’ll have a hauntingly good time today, my little witches and warlocks.

Source: Rock On Philly

It’s authentic, bizarre, and most of all, fun.

According to TJ Kong’s electrifying frontman, Dan Bruskewicz, that feeling is intentional. Instead of recording the album digitally, the band decided to record it all live on tape, and ...

Happy Halloween, Y'all!

It’s time once again for my most favorite of holidays: Halloween. I hope you’ve all got plans to dress up in all manner of costumes and have a spooky, kooky time all weekend long in celebration of the magic wonderfulness of this particular holiday.
