Just Announced: Regina Spektor’s 2017 tour brings her to The Fillmore Philly

Regina Spektor | photo by Shervin Lainez | courtesy of the artist

This fall, New York singer-songwriter Regina Spektor returned with Remember Us To Life — her first album in four years and best album in ten. The LP is a showcase of Spektor’s strengths: lushly orchestrated indie pop, irresistible earworm hooks, storytelling songwriting with striking intimacy and a left-of-center perspective. And as much as we’re excited to have new music from this critical darling of the indie aughties in our headphones again, we’re equally looking forward to seeing her onstage.

Today, Spektor announced a run of tour dates for 2017, and the month-long ...

When I’m (not) Small: Phantogram stretches out at Fillmore Philadelphia

Phantogram | photo by John Vettese for WXPN

It’s been a minute since I’ve seen Phantogram in their own element. Sure, they kill wherever they take the stage. But if that stage is at a festival like Firefly or Roots Picnic, or an industry gathering like SXSW, there’s an element of the audience being there for the hang moreso than the bands. And there’s an element of the band subsequently reeling their performance in for maximum impact. At Monday night’s Fillmore Philadelphia show, there was none of that — Phantogram was as loud and epic and arty as they wanted ...

G. Love Brings His Sauce Home and Makes His Fillmore Debut

New Venue Alert! Fishtown Factory Gets Makeover

Source: Rock On Philly

Ever wonder what could be done with that old smelting and metal-refining factory (a.k.a. the former Ajax Metal Company) on Frankford Avenue and Delaware Avenue, across from SugarHouse Casino?  Wonder no more. Live Nation is turning it into a concert venue, namely, The Fillmore Philadelphia.

The revitalization is a century in the making for the factory and is backed by the neighborhood, whose development seeks to build up that lone, overgrown section between Delaware Avenue and 1-95, according to philly.com.  Says Mayor Nutter: “Philadelphia is a city with a proud musical heritage and we could not be more ...
