Best of the B Sides: “Heartbeat”

Source: Rock On Philly

I know, I know that this isn’t technically a b-side, but hear me out. Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) is a vastly under-appreciated hip hop artist and his debut album Camp (2011) also went kind of overlooked. His sophomore album Because the Internet (2013) gained a larger popular response than Camp did. Childish Gambino live: Another side of Donald Glover at Fillmore Silver Spring

Source: The Washington Post » Music

A rapidly dialed phone, the pulse of a busy signal, and the electronic chatter of two modems talking: While most of the crowd was too young to know those sounds, it was an appropriate introduction for Childish Gambino, who brought his Deep Web tour in support of his recent album “Because the Internet” to the sold-out Fillmore Silver Spring on Tuesday night.

It features “real life” topic discussions like status, racism, relationships, and the overall struggle to make it to the top, but showes himself as more than just a conventional writer.

Childish Gambino is back ...

Childish Gambino – 3005

Source: All Things Go

childish gambino

Rappers can be moody fucks. Just look at Childish Gambino, a.k.a. Donald Glover of Community. Last week he Instagrammed a series of fears and self-doubts he’d written on hotel stationary, including, “I’m afraid people hate who I really am,” and “I’m afraid I’ll never reach my potential.” Glover also commented on the new Childish Gambino record in this format, revealing, “The label doesn’t want me to release in December because it’s not a holiday record and I’m not a big artist.”

Apparently Glassnote Records has changed their mind, because today Childish Gambino’s Because The Internet got a release date, ...
