After releasing an album that reached #2 in his native Sweden in 2008, pop singer Erik Hassle needed a break. Making cookie cutter Top 40 songs is exhausting, after all. Like many young twentysomethings, he went on an exploratory journey to find himself, traveling, writing and finding his own sound and using his music as therapy. He ended up in Los Angeles, and he’s making a comeback as a more brooding, articulate and mature musician, with his own spin on noir-soul. Just perfect for killing those languid Swedish winters.
