On The Road Again: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

Well, well, well. Look who’s taking their show on the road?

I’ve been lucky enough to see Black Rebel Motorcycle Club a good number of times over the past decade and a half or so. As such, I feel perfectly justified in calling them one of the best live bands I’ve ever had the privilege to see up close and in person.

After what’s felt like forever, BRMC is readying a new record for release (Wrong Creatures, to be released in January 2018), and is fixing to take their stellar show out on a pretty extensive tour to play ...

It’s been three and a half years since west coast psychedelic power trio Black Rebel Motorcycle Club last stepped onstage in Philly.

Their May 2013 appearance at the TLA on South Street was in the midst of a mammoth tour in support of Specter at the Feast, the band’s seventh album of garage rock noir; the run had been going on for several months already, and continued for several more.

“It’s pretty normal that our touring schedule is quite intense,” explains drummer Leah Shaprio. ...

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Death From Above 1979 Look To Bring Sincere Rock n’ Roll to Philly

Source: Rock On Philly

This Election Day eve, co-headliners Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Death From Above 1979 will be taking their signature brands of straightforward, take-no-prisoners rock n’ roll to The Fillmore. A few songs in each band’s catalog (for instance, BRMC’s “US Government” and DFA’s “Government Trash”) highlight various issues in the American government and political system, but both bands chalk it up to their penchant for honesty rather than a deliberate attempt at the soapbox.

“Those songs came the same way a love song would come, where you don’t expect it but that’s where you were at ...

On The Road Again: Death From Above 1979/Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

When I heard about this my head just about exploded off of my neck. After all, seeing either of these bands on the road in their own right is pretty ridiculously special, but to see them co-headlining? For fuck’s sake. I’m not sure it gets much better. Death From Above 1979 and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club definitely sounds like a can’t-miss show to me. If you’ve not yet had the pleasure of seeing these bands do their live thing, y’all, I recommend rather strongly that you try to nab tickets to this tour.

The Fashionably Late Top 60 of 2013: #25 – Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

Source: Fuzzy Logic

When it comes to year-end lists, y’all know I don’t mess around. I don’t post my picks from the previous year for weeks after the next year has started. In 2013 there was a bounty of music that entered the world that made me deliriously happy to be blessed with the sense of sound. So I have pondered, marinated, and contemplated for weeks. Music from 2013 has been digested for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and yes, even dessert). And now, friends, it’s time. Time to share with you what I consider the cream of one heck of a crop indeed. ...
